Evaluation of Person Centred Active Support (2008)
Person Centred Active Support assists people with a disability and staff to engage positively in everyday activities, directed by the person's interests and choices. In Victoria, the program aims to provide staff working in Department of Human Services (DHS) managed Community Residential Units (CRUs) with the skills required to develop new ways of working with people with a disability, in activities of choice at home and the local community.
Development of Disability Action Plan (2008)
Nucleus developed a Disability Action Plan for the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance. The plan was designed to address key outcome areas to ensure that people with a disability have full and equal access to all aspects of the Department. It also promotes a greater understanding and awareness of disability within the Department and contributes to a more inclusive and accessible workplace.
Strategic Plan 2008 - 2010
Nucleus has successfully completed a wide range of business and strategic planning projects in the health, education and community services sectors. Projects typically involve a detailed situation analysis, input from a broad range of stakeholders and facilitation of a future vision and goals for the organisation.
Development of a Business Model for Fit 2 Drive (2007)
Fit to Drive is a road safety program for young people that aims to raise awareness and promote key road safety messages. The Victorian Transport Accident Commission, on behalf of key road safety education agencies, appointed Nucleus to develop a sustainable business model for the program that would assure its future as an independent community based program.
Evaluation of Seniors Go for your life (2007)
Seniors Go for your life is a key initiative seeking to increase participation in active living by older people. Nucleus conducted a mid-term evaluation of the program to summarise activity and achievements to date and recommend a framework for the full-term evaluation.
Review of the Speech Therapy Initiative (2007)
The Speech Therapy Initiative aims to address limited access to specialist speech therapy services and support by people with complex communication needs. Nucleus evaluated service design, implementation, operations and outcomes for the target group.
Evaluation of Community Walking Grants Program (2007)
The 'Go for your life' Community Walking Grants Program is an initiative of Sport and Recreation Victoria aiming to provide more opportunities for physical activity and to support communities to encourage walking and overcome barriers to participation. Nucleus was engaged to review aspects of process, program impact and outcomes, including strategies and factors that might enable projects to become self-sustaining.
Evaluation of Access for All Abilities (2006)
A program designed to develop sport and recreation opportunities that are inclusive of, and accessible to, people with a disability.

Review of Grief and Bereavement Services (2005)
Nucleus conducted a review of four state-wide grief and bereavement services funded in Victoria by the Department of Human Services. The aim of the review was to enhance the ability of services to provide grief and bereavement counselling and support across the state. The review found evidence of a high level of unmet demand but also identified some duplication of roles within existing services (in the areas of information, education and training). The report includes the recommendations of the review and a proposed framework for the future development of grief and bereavement services in Victoria.
Review of the Provision of Renal Dialysis Services - Shires of Wentworth and Balranald (2005)
This review was commissioned by the Greater Western Area Health Service to determine the current and future needs of residents in the area and the most efficient and effective model of service delivery for dialysis patients. The project involved mapping current service delivery, analysis of trends in patient characteristics, projected health profiles and community demographics and review of factors that impact on the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery including treatment modalities. The final report identified a preferred service model and provided advice regarding the implementation of the model.
Review of the Victorian HIV/AIDS Service at the Alfred Hospital (2005)
The state-wide Review of the Victorian HIV/AIDS Service at the Alfred Hospital was commissioned by the Department of Human Services to generate discussion about potential future directions for the service, given the need to refocus existing services and develop new responses to the illness. The review set a context for further discussions through presentation of a summary of the current situation, identification of a range of areas for enhancement and key recommendations for future service directions.
Case Management across the Alcohol and Drug Sector (2005)
This project sought to identify and analyse the understanding and implementation of case management across the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector. The study was commissioned by ACT Health and provided information to support progress towards a more integrated and effective service for clients through the development of appropriate case management definitions and practices.
Working with Families Initiative (2004)
Nucleus was engaged by the Barwon-South Western Region, Department of Human Services to integrate a number of family services iniatives (including the Family Support Innovation Project, Families First and the Intensive Home Based Intervention program). The project proposed models for the configuration of a continuum of family support within regional catchments; options for the development of a coordinated intake and referral process and identified key characteristics to inform the prioritisation of service delivery within a coordinated intake model.
ACT Flexible Family Support Pilot Evaluation (2003)
This evaluation was undertaken by the Nucleus Group on behalf of the ACT Government. The purpose of the project was to conduct an initial evaluation of the Family Support Service Pilot and develop assessment criteria to determine the effectiveness of the Pilot in providing a new approach to respite service provision.

Nucleus was engaged to review current responses to meeting the service needs of people with a disability and the effectiveness of strategies to support families on behalf of the National Disability Administrators.
In-home Child Care - Information Booklet (2002)
This booklet was developed as a resource for new providers, as part of a report on the in-home child care pilot project, conducted on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services.
Abuse Prevention Strategies in Specialist Disability Services (2002)
Nucleus was engaged to review literature and current practice in the prevention of abuse and neglect, across disability and a range of other service sectors, and develop a framework for improvement. The project was commissioned by the National Disability Administrators and provides a set of principles, mechansisms and practice examples that can be adapted by jurisdicitions to meet local conditions and circumstances.
